Kolkata, Nov. 28 -- A Trinamool Congress Panchayat Pradhan and another man were critically injured after unidentified assailants opened fire at them in Bally, Howrah, on Thursday night.
The incident happened at around 11 pm when Debabrata Mondal (Babu), Pradhan of the Sapui Para-Basukati Gram Panchayat, was returning home on a motorcycle after attending an event with Anupam Rana, a resident who was pillion riding with him.
As they approached Buro Shibtala in the Nishchinda area, two men on a motorcycle came close and fired multiple rounds targeting Mondal. Both Mondal and Rana collapsed on the spot with severe gunshot injuries.
Locals rushed them to Belur State General Hospital, from where they were shifted to a private hospital in Howra...
