Kolkata, Nov. 20 -- Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale on Thursday raised sharp questions over how the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) shared a list of "deactivated" Aadhaar numbers from West Bengal with the Election Commission of India (ECI), despite previously stating that it does not maintain such granular data.
In a post on X, the Rajya Sabha MP alleged that the ECI was "collaborating with the Modi government's UIDAI for vote chori (vote theft)."Gokhale referred to recent reports claiming that the UIDAI had provided the ECI with information on 30-32 lakh deactivated Aadhaar numbers from West Bengal, which the authority said belonged to individuals who had died.
