Kolkata, July 23 -- In a significant development that could pose a major setback for the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Bharatpur MLA from Murshidabad district, Humayun Kabir, today announced plans to launch a new political party after Independence Day.
The decision comes amid growing discontent with the district leadership of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), though Kabir clarified he holds no personal grievance against party supremo Mamata Banerjee or General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
