Kolkata, Aug. 9 -- In a daylight shooting that sent shockwaves through Cooch Behar, Amar Roy (35), son of Trinamul Congress leader and Dauaguri Gram Panchayat pradhan Kuntala Roy, was gunned down at Dadeya under Cooch Behar-II block today.
Police said the incident took place when Roy and his friend Alamgir arrived at the weekly Dadeya market in a four-wheeler.
According to sources, a heated argument broke out with a group of miscreants. The attackers, reportedly wearing helmets, surrounded the vehicle, blocked its movement, and fired multiple
rounds before fleeing. Panic spread across the market as shopkeepers hurriedly pulled down shutters.
