Kolkata, April 12 -- Launching a blistering attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress while projecting the BJP as the driver of North Bengal's development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday declared that the TMC is an "anti-North Bengal, anti-tribal, anti-tea garden workers and anti-women party," asserting that meaningful change in the region will come only with a BJP government in the state.
Addressing the Bijoy Sankalpa Sabha at Kawakhali Maidan in Siliguri, Modi's speech revolved around what he described as the neglect of North Bengal under the TMC regime and the Centre's sustained push for development in the region.
