Kolkata, May 17 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday observed state-wide programmes across West Bengal to honour the courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces, in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
Following the directive of party supremo Mamata Banerjee, the tribute rallies were organised from 3 pm to 5 pm in every district, town, and block of the state. The programmes will continue on Sunday, maintaining the same schedule.
Earlier CM Mamata Banerjee had said on Wednesday, "Our party has announced rallies on Saturday and Sunday from 3 - 5 pm in every block and ward (urban areas) to pay our respects to the jawans and extend condolences towards the families of those brave-hearts who laid down their lives for the motherland."
