Kolkata, Oct. 9 -- A day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticised the fare hike from Bagdogra airport for Kolkata and New Delhi-bound passengers, ruling Trinamool Congress today urged the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to immediately regulate the tariff so that stranded people can avail the services.
Banerjee, who was on a three-day visit to assess the flood in north Bengal, alleged the airlines started taking advantage of the natural calamity and charged Rs 18,000 for Bagdogra-Kolkata and Rs 42,000 to New Delhi for each passenger.
