Kolkata, Nov. 24 -- Ruling Trinamool Congress Block Level Agent (BLA) at Sandeshkhali in South 24 Parganas Jamirul Islam Mollah, who has closed connection with jailed Sk Sahajan, was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill Block Level Officer (BLO) Dipak Mahato of the locality, official sources said.
The arrest happened last night after the Block Development Office complained with concerned police station that the BLO was threatened by the TMC BLA Jamirul Islam Mollah of dier consequence if his 97-year-old uncle's name was deleted from the voter's list.
Despite BLO's explanation that his uncle's name was not listed in the 2002 voter list and hence the SIR form for 2025 should be filled as per existing rules. Sandeshkhali No 1 block...
