Kolkata, July 13 -- A Trinamool Congress activist, Mofazzal Mollah, was today arrested in connection with the party block president Razzak Khan's murder at Bhangar in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, official sources said.
Khan (38), a TMC block president of Chaltaberia in Bhangar, was allegedly shot several times and then received wounds from choppers while returning home after a party meeting on Thursday evening.
Both Khan and the accused had attended the same meeting, which was presided over by TMC MLA
Saokat Mollah.
Sources said both Khan and Mofazzel were close friends.
Unidentified assailants allegedly fired several shots at Khan, after which they hacked him to death.
