Bengaluru, Oct. 5 -- Veteran journalist and Padma Bhushan recipient TJS George, revered as the "Bhishma of Indian journalism", was cremated with full state honors at Hebbal Electric Crematorium here today. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his respects, attending the ceremony in person.

George's body was draped in the national flag, a tribute to his decades-long service to journalism and public life. The ceremony included a three-round gun salute by the police, marking the state's homage before the final rites were performed.
