Tirupati, Aug. 13 -- Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao today instructed the officials concerned to take steps to make the poems of the great saint poet Tallapaka Annamacharya more accessible to the youth.
Annamayya Keertanas are a collection of devotional songs composed by the 15th-century saint and poet, Annamacharya, in praise of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala.
He is said to have composed around 32,000 keertanas, though only about 12,000 are currently available.
Rao, who conducted a review with the concerned officials along with TTD JEO Veerabraham in here, suggested that competitions be organized on Annamayya Kirtans at the regional, district and state levels to involve the youth.
