Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Jan. 11 -- In a remarkable example of compassionate healthcare, the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), here has provided free super-speciality medical treatment worth Rs 18 lakh to an economically underprivileged patient under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams' (TTD) SV Pranadana Scheme.

Disclosing the details, Dr R. V. Kumar, Director and Vice-Chancellor of SVIMS, said that K. Harinath (35), a daily wage labourer from Jagilivandla Palli village in Kalikiri Mandal of Annamayya district (Andhra Pradesh), was successfully treated for life-threatening fungal infections affecting the eye, nose and brain.
