Agartala, July 13 -- BJP's ally in Tripura government, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman today announced that his party seeks a door-to-door survey for revision of the electoral rolls.
Debbarman said that his party's MLA's will write to the Election Commission of India (ECI), urging the inclusion of such a survey in the Commission's ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll.
His statement follows reports that a similar door-to-door survey in Bihar, conducted under the SIR, uncovered the presence of individuals originally from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar currently residing in the state ahead of upcoming elections.
