Varanasi, Nov. 3 -- Tight security arrangements have been made as lakhs of devotees and tourists arrive in the holy city of Kashi to witness the Ganga Aarti and the divine spectacle of the ghats during the Dev Deepawali festival, a police officer said today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kashi) Saravanan T said that more than 2,500 police personnel are being deployed for special security arrangements on Dev Deepawali on November 5.
"The Ganga River will be divided into 14 sectors and special divers will be deployed along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Water Police," he said.
