Bengaluru, Sept. 1 -- Defence expert GJ Singh today expressed cautious optimism regarding the Tianjin Declaration issued at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, urging India to avoid viewing it as a definitive assurance of China's commitment to peace and cooperation.

While acknowledging the positive aspects of the declaration, Singh emphasised the importance of maintaining a balanced perspective. "The Tianjin Declaration reflects a shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation. However, we must not interpret it as a binding guarantee of China's intentions," Singh told UNI here.
