Amaravati, Nov. 6 -- A trough, elongated area of low atmospheric pressure, is running from the central Bay of Bengal to south Kerala across Tamil Nadu, between 1.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said on Thursday.
It had been extending from the southwest Bay of Bengal to north Kerala across interior Tamil Nadu yesterday.
In its daily weather report, the Met Centre stated that the northeast monsoon has been normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema. It predicted that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours, and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 24 hours.
