Amaravati, Aug. 20 -- The low-pressure area over central parts of Chhattisgarh and adjoining east Madhya Pradesh, which persisted on Tuesday, became less marked by 0830 hours on Wednesday.

However, the associated cyclonic circulation continues to lie over southeast Madhya Pradesh and the neighbouring region, extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said.

In its daily weather report, the Met office forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the next five days.

Similar conditions are likely in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours.
