Thrissur, Sept. 8 -- Thrissur city today transformed into a roaring jungle of stripes, drums, and ecstatic crowds as Pulikkali, the grand finale of Onam celebrations, brought the festival season to a spectacular close.
Over 400 'tigers', their bodies painted in striking shades of yellow, black, and orange, marched and danced into the Swaraj Round, unleashing a frenzy of colour, rhythm, and energy.
Pulikkali, the famed "tiger dance" street pageant unique to Thrissur, marks the climactic moment of the Onam season. While festivities have ended elsewhere in Kerala, for Thrissurites, the festival concludes only with this tradition on the fourth Onam day.
