Thrissur, April 29 -- KFON (Kerala Fibre Optic Network) project, Kerala's own internet service, is seeing growing demand in homes, offices, and commercial establishments across Thrissur.

The promise of high-speed internet at highly affordable rates is drawing more people to the service. So far, 7,564 KFON connections have been provided in the district.

A total of 2,649.57 kilometers of cable has been laid in Thrissur. Of this, 346.15 km of OPGW cable has been installed through KSEB transmission towers, while 2,303.43 km of ADSS cable has been installed via KSEB electric poles.

Currently, 2,494 government offices in the district, including the Collectorate; are connected to the KFON network.
