Mumbai, July 15 -- India's automotive sector delivered a mixed performance during the first quarter of FY2025-26, with most segments registering marginal declines despite record achievements in select categories, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) data released here today.
Passenger vehicle sales dipped 1.4% year-on-year to 1.01 million units, though crossing the million-unit threshold for the second consecutive Q1.
The segment witnessed divergent trends: utility vehicles grew 3.8% to command 66% market share, while passenger cars declined 11.2%.
