Chennai, Dec. 28 -- Three fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navywhile fishing in the high seas near Neduntheevu today morning.

The fishermen hailing from Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district had ventured into the seafor fishing last night when they were arrested for allegedly fishing in the Lankan territorial waterafter crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

The Lankan Navy personnel arrested them and impounded their fishing boat and took them toKankesanthurai fishing habour.

Later, they were produced before a Sri Lankan court and remanded in judicial custody tillJanuary 7.
