Ranchi, Sept. 15 -- Jharkhand Police, assisted by the CRPF's COBRA battalion, gunned down three Maoists in an encounter today morning in the Patitiri forests under Girhor police station limits in Hazaribagh district, near the Giridih border.
Among those killed was Sahdev Soren alias Pravesh - a CPI (Maoist) central committee member carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore. The other two were identified as Raghunath Hembram, a Jharkhand Special Area Committee member with a Rs 25 lakh reward, and Vir Sen Ganjhu, a committee member carrying a Rs 10 lakh reward.
Police headquarters confirmed the recovery of three bodies and three AK-47 rifles from the site.
