Nahan, July 12 -- In a major security alert ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand, police seized 125 kilograms of dynamite and two boxes of detonators from an Alto car bearing a Himachal Pradesh registration number near the Himachal-Uttarakhand border at Tyuni.
Three individuals from Himachal Pradesh have been arrested in connection with the illegal transportation of explosives.
Acting on directions issued by the Dehradun SSP to intensify checking operations to prevent illegal activities during the poll season, the Tyuni police conducted a routine search at a border check post.
