Ranchi, Sept. 24 -- Security forces gunned down three active militants of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) during an encounter in the Kechki forests under Bishunpur police station limits in Gumla district.

A large cache of sophisticated weapons was also recovered from the site.

According to police sources, the slain extremists have been identified as Lalu Lohra of Senha in Lohardaga, Sujit Oraon of Gumla, and Chhotu Oraon of Hoshir village in Latehar.

All three were long-time JJMP members and were actively involved in violent incidents across Gumla, Lohardaga, and nearby areas.
