Shillong, Aug. 20 -- Three people, including a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, were injured after a gas cylinder allegedly exploded here in Meghalaya late Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the explosion occurred around 2200 hours on Tuesday night in the portion of the building rented by Shubam Ch. Momin (27) at Umpling, Lumdiengmet locality.
Initial investigation revealed that the explosion occurred when Momin lit the gas stove.
A police official said a thorough investigation is being carried out to ascertain the exact cause of the blast, which has caused significant damage to the house and surrounding structures.
