Nagpur, April 14 -- The Government Railway Police (GRP) have busted a gang that allegedly engaged youngsters on fixed monthly payments to execute thefts aboard trains, leading to the arrest of three individuals, officials said on Tuesday.

Investigators revealed that the group enticed youths with promises of steady income and covered expenses, subsequently assigning them tasks to steal valuables from unsuspecting passengers during train journeys.

The accused reportedly preyed on travellers, particularly those asleep, and made away with items such as mobile phones, cash, and jewellery.

Police said the gang functioned in a well-organised setup, with members designated specific responsibilities.
