Mumbai, Oct. 21 -- Speculation is rife that three former MLAs from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) in Solapur district are about to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), causing unease within the Ajit Pawar camp.

To carry out damage control in Solapur district, party leader and state Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne has been sent today, to hold discussions with key district leaders and try to persuade them to stay.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut, in a sarcastic comment on the situation, said today that recently, NCP leader and former MLA Rajan Patil, former MLA Yashwant Mane, and Ranjitsingh Shinde, the son of Madha MLA Babanrao Shinde, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai. ...
