Sitapur (UP), Feb. 10 -- Three persons, including a couple, were killed when a truck hit a motorcycle in the Biswan area of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place when Awadhesh Kumar (40), a resident of Parsindi village, along with his wife Sangeeta (35) and sister-in-law Priyanka was going to Biswan in connection with some work on a motorcycle.
Police said the accident occurred when the truck hit the motorcycle near the PWD guest house while trying to overtake the motorcycle killing the trio on the spot. "While the truck driver escaped from the spot the vehicle was impounded. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination," Police said.
