Kolkata, Sept. 27 -- Three people were killed when their car, in which they were returning home after buying the Durga idol, hit a pile of bricks on a road in West Bengal's Chandranagar town of Hooghly district late last night, police said today.
The dead, identified as Bhaskar Debdhara, Pritam Chakraborty (30) and Swapan Dey (40), and three other occupants were taken to the Chandannagar hospital with critical wounds.
One of them was shifted to the SSKM Hospital after his condition deteriorated. The victims were returning home in a separate vehicle after the idols were being taken to the community puja in a truck.
