Kangra, Sept. 21 -- A three-day residential training programme on Forest Fire and Fire Safety concluded today in Kangra, with experts stressing the importance of preparedness and community participation in tackling forest fires.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, who was the chief guest, said the training was significant for the district, which witnesses annual forest fires that cause loss of life and damage to natural resources.
He added that such programmes not only train participants in fire control methods but also emphasise safety for themselves and others.
