Firozabad, April 16 -- In a major crackdown, the Cyber Police Station team arrested three youths involved in an online loan fraud racket and sent them to jail on Thursday.
According to SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Cyber Crime Cell and Cyber Police acted on a tip-off and apprehended the accused who were actively engaged in cyber fraud.
The gang used Facebook to run fake advertisements under the name "Dhani Finance," promising loans of up to Rs 5 lakh to unsuspecting victims.
The accused allegedly collected money from victims in the name of processing and registration fees through QR codes. After receiving the payments, they withdrew the funds via ATMs and distributed the money among themselves.
