Palamu, Jan. 6 -- In a significant verdict under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the district court in Palamu has sentenced three accused to 18 years of rigorous imprisonment each in a ganja trafficking case.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.50 lakh on each convict, failing which they will have to undergo an additional one year of simple imprisonment.

The judgment was pronounced by the court of Palamu District Court Sixth District and Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Special NDPS Judge Raj Kumar Mishra.

Those convicted have been identified as Sanjeev Pal of Pindariya, Ashish Kumar of Puraini and Rakesh Kumar Gupta, all residents of Nagar Untari in Garhwa district. The court found them guilty in NDPS Case No. ...
