Chennai, April 15 -- Three boys drowned in the Velliankal stream at Kollakudi village near Kattumannar Taluk in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Monday.
Police said the deceased boys were identified as Abdul Rahman (13), Obaiyadullah (9) and
Mohd Habil (10).
Being a holiday yesterday for Tamil New Year's day, the boys went to the stream to have a
bath when they were washed away by the water tide and drowned.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday expressed deep anguish and grief over their
deaths and announced a solatium of Rs three lakh each to their parents from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
He also offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
