Chikkamagaluru, Dec. 24 -- : Three rare blackbucks were found shot dead in Kadur taluk of Chikkamagaluru district, triggering concern over suspected poaching and prompting forest officials to launch a detailed investigation, official sources said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light on Tuesday when local residents noticed the carcasses lying on a private farmland near the Basur Amrit Mahal Kaval, a notified blackbuck conservation reserve. The animals, comprising two females and one male, are believed to be less than two years old.
