Dumka (Jharkhand), Sept. 30 -- Police in Dumka district have arrested three accused in connection with an extortion case involving a stone quarry owner in the Shikaripara police station area.
The case came to light on September 23, when unidentified criminals allegedly demanded Rs 50 lakh from quarry owner Ram Soren, threatening to kill him if he failed to pay up.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under Section 308(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Shikaripara police station.
Dumka Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar constituted a special team under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vijay Kumar Mahato to investigate the case.
