Chandigarh, July 14 -- An anonymous email allegedly threatening to carry out a bomb blast using RDX at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) during the afternoon hours today triggered a high alert in Amritsar. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which manages the shrine, swiftly ramped up security and informed the police administration of the potential threat. The email, received by SGPC earlier in the day, specifically mentioned plans to detonate explosives in the Langar Hall area of the shrine premises.
