Washim, Sept. 18 -- After the Maratha community, now the Banjara community has come out onto the streets demanding reservation.

On Wednesday, in Manora town in Washim district of Maharashtra, a strong protest march was held by the entire Banjara community demanding Scheduled Tribe status under the Hyderabad Gazette for the Vimukta Jati (de-notified tribes) nomadic tribes in Maharashtra.

Thousands of members of Banjara community participated in this march.

A statement has been sent to the state Chief Minister via the taluka (local) administration by the community.

The Banjara community has now adopted an aggressive stance to secure Scheduled Tribe reservation.
