Mumbai, July 31 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today said that in the Malegaon bomb blast case, Congress deliberately framed seven Hindus, including Colonel Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya, and harassed them for as long as 17 years.
Congress, which engaged in vote-bank politics by branding it as "saffron terrorism," should now issue a public apology to Hindus, said Shinde.
With the NIA court giving its verdict during the day, the stain on Hindus has been wiped clean. The slogan "Say with pride, we are Hindus" will now echo across the country a hundred times louder, Shinde said.
After the NIA court acquitted all accused in the case, the Deputy Chief Minister accused the Congress of indulging in "anti-Hindu politics".
