Agartala, Jan. 4 -- Police in South Tripura district apprehended a 36-year-old man late last night in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor in the Jolaibari region.
According to Officer-in-Charge Bishnu Chandra Das of Baikhora police station, a complaint was lodged around 10:30 pm claiming that a minor girl from Jolaibari had been raped.
In response to the complaint, the police promptly launched a preliminary investigation, which suggested that the allegations were credible.
Acting swiftly, a police team executed a raid and arrested the suspect in a short period. The suspect has been identified as Bikash Nama (36), a resident of West Jolaibari.
