Tehran, March 11 -- A bulk carrier became the third vessel targeted by a projectile near the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region. The vital shipping lane has increasingly come under scrutiny amid the war with Iran.
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the vessel reported being struck by an "unknown projectile" approximately 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai. Fortunately, the crew is safe, and there is no reported environmental damage.
Earlier on Wednesday, another cargo ship caught fire after being hit about 11 nautical miles north of Oman's Musandam Peninsula, prompting an evacuation. A separate cargo vessel off the coast of the UAE also reported damage from an earlier incident....
