Shimla, Aug. 11 -- Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla has reported another death due to scrub typhus on Sunday taking the hospital's toll from the disease this season to three.

Senior Superintendent of IGMC hospital said in a press release that latest victim, identified as 34-year-old Saroj, was referred from Civil Hospital Rohru with severe sepsis and septic shock. She was admitted to IGMC on August 8, 2025, and tested positive for scrub typhus the next day.

Despite intensive treatment in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), her condition deteriorated, and she passed away at around 3:00 pm on August 10.
