New Delhi, July 15 -- The Statesman, one of India's oldest and most respected newspapers, has invited entries for its prestigious Awards for Excellence in Rural Reporting and the Cushrow Irani Prize for Environmental Reporting.
These awards are aimed at recognising journalistic excellence in reporting issues of critical importance to India's rural communities and environmental landscape, said the award organising committee in a statement here.
The Statesman Awards for Rural Reporting carries three cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000. This award seeks to encourage and honour journalists who bring to light the socio-political and economic challenges faced by rural India.
