New Delhi, May 26 -- Signalling a thaw in bilateral ties, which had turned cold under the regime of Justin Trudeau, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and new Canadian FM Anita Anand held a telephone call and discussed the prospects of bilateral ties.

In a post on X, the EAM posted: "Appreciate the telecon with FM @AnitaAnandMP of Canada.

"Discussed the prospects of India-Canada ties."

He also wished her a successful tenure.

In reply, the Indo-Canadian leader thanked the EAM for the productive discussion.

"Thank you, Minister @DrSJaishankar, for today's productive discussion on strengthening Canada-India ties, deepening our economic cooperation, and advancing our shared priorities. I look forward to continuing our collaboration."...
