Thane, Sept. 29 -- With 1,658 new cases of COVID-19 being reported in Maharashtra's Thane district, the tally has reached 1,71,815, an official at the district headquarters said on Tuesday.
The number of deaths due to COVID has swollen to 4,396 with the addition of 31 more deaths on Monday, he said.
As per the official, the recovery rate in the district is 87.09%(149632), mortality 2.56%(4396), and active patients 10.35%(17,787) the official said.
Thane and Navi Mumbai were fast approaching the 36,000 case mark with a total of 35,983, and 35,934 cases till date respectively he said.
While neighbouring Palghar district recorded 34,449 cases, he added.
