Thane district's COVID-19 count rises by 325, death toll by 1

Thane, Jan. 18 -- With the addition of 325 coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra mounted to 2,49,507, an official said on Monday.

These new cases were reported on Sunday, he said.

As the virus claimed the life of one person the death toll in the district rose to 6,053. The mortality rate is 2.43 per cent, he added.

So far, 2,39,411 patients have recuperated from the infection, which took the recovery rate to 95.95 per cent. There are 4,043 active cases in the district at present, the official said.

In neighbouring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 44,857 while the death toll is 1,194, he said. UNI XR SB 1142
