Thane, Dec. 23 -- In a move to tighten monitoring of election campaigning, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) in Maharashtra has made pre-certification mandatory for all electronic media advertisements by political parties and candidates contesting the 2025-26 municipal elections.
The directive, titled 'Media Supervision and Advertisement Certification Order 2025', mandates that all proposed electronic advertisements must receive prior approval from a designated certification committee before being aired or published.
