Mumbai, Sept. 22 -- The Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by cousins Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, are expected to form an alliance for the upcoming Mumbai municipal elections.
According to sources within the Shiv Sena (UBT), a seat-sharing agreement for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been finalised. In core city areas, which are considered strongholds for both parties, seats will be divided equally.
In the suburbs, however, the distribution will be based on party strength and the viability of candidates. The Shiv Sena (UBT) is expected to contest approximately 60 percent of the seats, while the MNS will contest the remaining 40 percent.
