Hyderabad, Jan. 6 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is currently operating 875 electric buses across the state.
Replying to questions during Question Hour, the Minister said the government introduced the Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy through GO 41 with the objective of ensuring a cleaner environment and a better quality of life for future generations.
A detailed discussion on the EV policy and issues related to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation took place in the House.
Prabhakar said nearly one lakh electric vehicles were sold in the state over the past year, reflecting growing public acceptance.
