Hyderabad, Feb. 19 -- The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TGSHRC) has directed the immediate restoration of drinking water and electricity supply to Dalit families in Cherabanda Raju Nagar of Hanumakonda district and ordered protection for the affected residents.
Headed by Justice Shameem Akther, the Commission issued interim recommendations in S.R. Nos. 593 and 663 of 2026 after receiving complaints from 30 Scheduled Caste residents alleging illegal disconnection of water supply, threats of demolition and caste-based discrimination, despite possessing valid house-site pattas.
