Hyderabad, Dec. 31 -- With New Year celebrations set to begin in a few hours, people across age groups are gearing up to welcome 2026.
Amid the festivities, some are expected to consume alcohol, raising concerns over drunk driving and road safety.
In an effort to prevent accidents and ensure safe returns, the Telangana Gig and Platforms Workers union (TGPWU) has announced free ride services for those who are unable to return home on their own due to intoxication.
The union said that anyone in need can avail the service by calling 8977009804. The free rides will be available from 2300 hours on December 31 to 0100 hours on January 1, within the limits of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police commissionerates.
